cortana changing my Mic volume

Reason why Win 10 is a free upgrade. Basically every windows 10 upgrade is paid for/subsidised by the NSA/MI5.

The bad thing about this source of funding is that you get weird things happening like Windows randomly maximising your mic levels, activating your webcam, uploading your thumbnail and metadata caches directly to the brand new purpose built multi-million dollar analysis facility in Utah, allowing backdoor access, etc., etc.

more than likely it turns it up so it can understand you better.
does it really matter that it at 100%, after all its an input not output so it not going to affect anything other than the mic input

Yeah it does matter lol... if say am in Teamspeak and my SnowBall is fine tuned at around 70% so no background noise etc soon has I try and use Cortana with mic it will bost it to 100% and everyone can hear all my mic and noise!

It dont need to be 100% so am not sure why it does it.. They needs to be another setting for mic control within the app.

Of course it matters. No one should lose their liberty of communicating with properly levelled audio just because the NSA wants to hear every single noise in your house.

This is far from a laughing matter for any citizen.

Also that little "chanting test" you've devised to check if they come get you is absolutely preposterous and just concretes my belief that you are an NSA agent.

The fact that you are getting people to believe that properly adjusted audio levels are pointless and "don't matter", and that maximum levels are OK, further concretes my belief that you are an NSA agent on a mission to get people to increase their microphone levels.


Be afraid people. These agencies have been known to pay people to spread misinformation on internet forums. Just like all those shoddy websites that tell you how to re-gain your privacy on Windows 10. It's all a charade for the wary among us.

Mine is doing the same, but only when the Hey Cortana option is turned on. If you turn that off and just use the click microphone button it jumps up but then goes back down after you've spoken your command. Pretty annoying.

the op didn't explained why he doesn't want it at 100% in his first post, which Is why I said does it matter, he now has , so I can see why its a problem.
