Hi - The 5820k doesn't come with any sort of cooler, so as long as you aren't planning to use it until you get your new waterblock, you will be fine.

If not I advise picking up a cheap CPU cooler such as the CoolerMaster 212, only £25-ish and it's a really good air cooler.

I did not know that. The plan was to use if first before it went under water to check everything was ok.
The cooler that you suggested is out of stock at the moment, are there any others that are about the same price?

do retail cpus's not come with coolers now ???

Haswell-E never came with coolers, they're supposed to be enthusiast processors, and as an enthusiast you are expected to have your own cooling solution.

The Skylake K series processors also do not come with a stock cooler, as you are expected to use your own cooler if you have bought a chip meant for overclocking.
