so I upgraded to 10 all went fine looked good got it all set up working good.got up next day turned pc on.got no usb support.no keyboard no mouse nothing plugged old keyboard in not usb.tried drivers etc nothing worked.then I rolled back to 7.now my win says not genuine.been online with Microsoft 3 times now.they found my key.but now they are saying its my motherboard blocking the key and I have to phone asus?:(

After you updated was the machine activated ?

I would one of two things.

First download a Win 10 image, the same version which you updated to, I.E Pro.
Then do a fresh install of Win 10 and see if the driver issue persists.

Seeing this is a shop bought machine and had Win 7 pre-installed it will have SLIC2.1 info in the BIOS.
All you have to do then is source an Asus OEM image or make your own and do a fresh install of Win 7 and you will be back to normal.

Hopefully before you did the Win 10 update you saved all your important files, just in case. If not be sure to do that now before you do owt else.

win 10 was activated.not shop bought.was custom machine with win 7 on when I got it.i am using my win 7 now just not activated.how do I soarce an asus oem image.thanks

I cannot do another install as it says my key is now blocked by Microsoft.tried phoning them twice on hold for 1hr both times.i hung up

Sorry, i thought it was shop bought. My fault for miss reading. :(

A home built machine does not have SLIC2.1 in the BIOS so Asus OEM is of no use to you.
Unless, ahhh sorry, cant go into it any further on here.

You say after the upgrade your machine was activated. Good.

Source a Win 10 image of the same version you upgraded to.
Do a fresh install.
This tool is good
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install
Use it to download a .iso image.
Put the files on a USB ( formatted correctly ) and install a fresh version.

Maybe even test this on a different HDD. Win 10 activation servers collects your PC's hardware info but the HDD is not part of this so any HDD is fine.

The Win 7 install, do you have a Retail Win 7 ?

Doing an install of Win 10.

Skip all key inputs.
Once complete seeing you did an upgrade Win 10 will activate.

To help you out with Windows 7 there is a great place for all that stuff.

They do not deal in dodgy torrents or owt of that nature.

I wont put a direct link up but I will point you in the right direction.

MDL Forums.

If you find it look me up. "tnx" just the same.

@mods. If this pointer is not allowed, just delete.
Sorry.

thanks I don't have that set up.will take your advice and look at mdl forums.just off the phone to Microsoft.the kind lady said she could not give me a new key but I could buy one.thanks Microsoft.

yeah they remote controlled it.it did no good.he put some anti virus on then jelly bean key finder.found my key then said it was blocked by my asus board.now it was there fault and I had to phone them..yeah worst time ive had with Microsoft.they were useless to say the least..
