I found out something about my fiance and her family and I don't know what to do...

The thing that should annoy you the most is your other half siding with the soon to be Mother in law over you...

People believe in conspiracy theories oh noooooooo.....

People believe in certain religions oh noooooooooo.......

OP, let people have their own opinion and stop being so ignorant and dismissive to anything you don't agree with. This thread is far more stupid than your perhaps soon to be wife and in laws opinions.

Criticism of ignorance is ignorance?

If people want to keep their religions to themselves then that is one thing, but to put it out there that the moon landings were faked is pretty ignorant - criticising that though isn't 'ignorant'.

Neil Armstrong claims he's been to the Moon but has never been to Rhyl. Definitely something dodgy going on there.

Landing in Rhyl and bringing home some rock isn't going to make history or further our knowledge of the universe now is it? :p

Some cracking replies in this thread :)
For me though, if they steadfastly disbelieve something that has been so irrefutably proven what else could they be so stubborn about believing? Next time it could be really serious that could maybe affect the health of one you love. (think catholics against abortion, yet your fiance has early pregnancy complications which could harm her should she go full term)....you get the picture.
Similar with certain religions not allowing blood transfusion, so someone dies = nutters!

Think of that daft tw@ who let his daughter drown rather than the dishonour of letting some dudes put their hands on her to safe her life.....i mean, wtf?!?!?

He made the case for his own ignorance of Christian theology. I am sure in his own mind he thought he was saying something new and original, but these are issues that have been discussed and explained for the best part of two thousand years.

In short: the horrible things in the world are a consequence of our sin. God created us a paradise and we ruined it. He doesn't generally interfere in our daily lives because we have free will, and that means we've the freedom to experience the bad and the good.

Fry's outburst was little more than the whining of a petulant child.

God didn't create anything... It was written by an unknown author centuries ago. For certain God never wrote the bible, nor did Adam or Eve...so who did? Logic would dictate that it was made up.

The existence of God isn't actually what I have a problem with. What irrates me is most people will have a bit of faith and give room in their mind for the possibility of such deity but ask anyone who is religious is there is any possibility that God doesn't exist at all?

They go on a rant and defend it to the hilts.

So who created the rule that kids have to die because of the "sins" of others? ...God. He created the absurd rule and you blame it on the humans...

Why did god create humans that sin?

The fact we haven't been back to the moon is probably why some people doubt we ever went there. Plus, it was a pretty heroic feat in the first place.

I am always disappointed by how little investment the world has made in space exploration. Ah well, maybe by the time I'm sixty we'll be a bit further forward.

It's no surprise though, the government, nasa and whoever don't really care about that stuff but only making money.

If they did there'd be no poverty and we'd be able to time travel by now. Or who knows maybe we can already but it's being kept a secret ;)

And how do you know for sure that moon landing is true? Were you there?

And have you ever heard a term like 'difference of opinion'? If you think people who don't agree with your beliefs are idiot then whole world pretty much falls in that class.
