TNT explosion, notice the burst of debris compared to a liquid/gas explosion.

Petrol and gas expand in the air, anything chemical that reacts with a solid substance will blast the ground and air. But gas and petrol are a vapour/air blast explosion. ;)

I was tempted to post something like "definitely tactical nuke I can tell by the pixels" but there is always someone who can't tell its glib and takes you seriously :S


Less atomic like (you can see it expanding like a regular explosion) than some like the Toronto, Yemen and Ukraine blasts that to some degree mimic a typical mushroom cloud.

Some pictures of the local area are emerging and it looks like swathes of residential properties have been levelled with fires still burning across a massive area. The daylight pictures of the area are going to be horrific.
 
Am i the only one who thinks storing petrol and explosives in the same place is actually a good idea? Keep all the dangerous stuff in one controlled area etc.

Also inb4 suitcase bomb from bf3, defo the russians innit workin for the illiminati

Got to suspect so I'm afraid. Night time, residential area next door, it all adds up to being the worst time.

Buncefield was the opposite, very lucky it happened at the weekend rather than during the week when the office blocks next door would have been full of workers.

The initial explosion sent something into the air, then you see it coming back to cause another massive explosion. Petrol don't work like that, yes maybe the initial explosion was from the petrol, but the thing coming down and exploding bigger than the first explosion was a warhead of some kind.

Industrial accident on a epic scale. :(

Have you ever seen the effect of a blevy? Exactly the same behaviuor due to compression tank expansion. Bits fly everywhere.
