I am starting to get asked to do more events and I notice that my basic white plastic stofen diffuser on my flash is not the greatest performer when it comes to spreading soft light evenly on my photos of people, if it is too direct then the light is very harsh, and if it is pointing up then it doesn't spread and throw the light well enough.

I was looking at the Gary Fong Lightsphere which seems to be well rated and has good reviews... can anyone please vouch for this or are there any other recommendations? :)

I have a Garry Fong, it seems to do what it says on the tiny somewhat expensive for what it is but it works and supposedly works better than most of the cheap knockoffs.

I have a knock off of that, it works.

But I find nothing beats bouncing off the ceiling (providing the room size and wall colour is suitable)

I use a lumiquest bigbounce which does a good job. Lumiquest have a number of options though, worth a look.

The bigbounce is too big. Will check the other options though, thanks.

I'm waiting for my Madmod haul to arrive...not cheap though!

Hmm the Magsphere lokos like a viable alternative to the fong, will check it out!

Ok sounds good, its definitely a top candidate and I guess you would say if you were unhappy with the results!

Sadly in many clubs with dark walls and varying ceiling heights that's not a reliable solution imo, would prefer something that fires the light in the right directions to compensate.
