A heads up for those with EE Harriers (BenQ F52????) 4 acquaintances of mine who for what ever reason have this phone found the rollout yesterday of 5.1.1 has bricked their phones, looking at the EE community forums they are not alone and EE are yet to respond.

It appears the advice is to hold off the update until more is known.

This appears to be unrecoverable so far for those who feel like rolling the dice on the upgrade (http://community.ee.co.uk/t5/Androi...pdate-on-my-Harrier-handset/m-p/334170#M17881)
FYI the combination of holding VOL UP and Power, then when it restarts holding power and VOL DOWN has varied results of booting into recovery mode.

Doing a complete wipe, cache wipe or retrying the update from the sd card do nothing to solve this issue whatsoever.

So sit and wait I suppose..
Uh oh :(

Everyone I know with a bricked Harrier has been advised to return them to an EE shop for a loan phone while their one is returned for ROM reload, they've had to pay a £60 deposit for the pleasure of the loan

Apparently the update has been taken down while they "investigate" the issue.

Have to say the so called Experts on the EE community forums are highly uselessly entertaining with one in particular being a hilarious complete arse, I think I might have to read those forums more often for the entertainment value ;)

They are not experts nor employed by EE, I have already reported this issue to the correct person at EE and hope this to be resolved soon. I have too noticed a tone with the so called experts :)

Company community forums are usually a complete waste of time, any actual evidence that someone has screwed up tends to disappear, and what you're left with is people so incredibly sad that they devote their lives to white-knighting a profitable business for no personal gain other than a different icon on a website.
