Massive Explosion in Tianjin, China - Cause Unknown

Surely the figure of 50 dead is massively inaccurate?

It happened in a mostly industrial area late at night, so likely not that many people there. Damage to the apartment blocks nearby would be limited to glass and minor structural damage. No reason to think that many more would have been killed really.

The videos are absolutely mind-blowing. Hard to imagine the death toll won't remain low, and it's very sad people have lost their lives, but that doesn't take away the impact of those videos. Incredible.

Anyone wanting to see the video can search for 0e5_1439474009 and follow the live leak link.

Good. Lord. that was huge.

That was weird watching the destruction and listening to the apparent glee the people taking the video seemed to be experiencing. I'd be needing a change of underwear after the first explosion alone.

yea, that person is dead

RIP all those that lost their lives and hope all those that got hurt get well!

What a series of explosions!!!

guessing many more not identyfied. certainaly fueling the tin foils out there by sending in the nuclear/bio squads.

whatever it was looked very hot as it had that heat enough to pull in dust-atmospehre while exploding which can be seen on one of the vids i've seen. reports of windows/doors being blown out rather than in too.

looks like a very bad accident involving water.

I am amazed at just how many people seem to have been happy to film this while standing behind glass windows.

I would have been running for cover after the first flash!

Yeah people who filmed behind glass windows didn't realised the explosion was very powerful enough to send shockwave smashed their windows like this.

It amazed the explosion shockwave smashed nearly all windows at nearby residents towers.

Here are still fires at Tianjin Port 2 days after massive explosion.

Yeah I've probably watched too many youtube videos but amazes me how many sit around not expecting the shockwave.

Some of the storage areas in the vicinity had some nasties including stuff like arsenic, cyanide, etc. based stuff hence they won't take that lightly heh.

I just don't think they expect it to be so far reaching since they'll never have encountered it.

Loving the tin foil hats, they just can't help themselves. You could follow through on a wet fart and it would still be the government to blame in some way.

Did they live ? I know that sounds stupid but it looks "danger close" to coin a MW2 phrase :P

It's a real phrase, still used today by real people's doing real mw2 type things ;)
