Vodafone Smart Ultra 6

Has anyone else noticed you have to keep re-activating 'ok google' voice search ever so often ? I think it coincides with google updates which seem to reset the app

Oh wow, totally worth paying £75 extra and dealing with a skinned android for.

In other news, I picked my silver Smart Ultra 6 up earlier. No problems and loving it so far. Crazy how they're selling these for so little. Android has improved a lot since my HTC One X too.

Is there anyway of getting rid of Message+?

Yeah it's totally worth it, until you've experienced the twin front stereo speakers you'll never know, enjoy your mono rear speaker, i trust Alcatel over ZTE anyday, my Alcatel One Touch Idol 4.7' was very underrated by people like you, it'll go down as a classic.

I've had twin front stereo speakers on a phone before... I wouldn't say it's worth £75 extra. Personally I'd trust ZTE over Alcatel (which is actually a joint venture between Alcatel and a chinese company called TCL Corporation).

It just seems like you and the other guy are really annoyed at us for buying the SU6 for some reason... Nobody even mentioned the Idol 3 until you brought it up. I'm not underrating it either, I just don't see what it offers that makes it worth the extra price over the SU6.

I review a massive variety of phones and so I have no allegiance to one brand or another.

I'm not angry with you choosing the Smart Ultra 6 over the Idol 3. But you seem to have made up your mind that it is automatically better without trying both phones.

I have used both extensively and the Smart Ultra 6 does lag occasionally (try fast scrolling in Chrome for instance) as does the Idol 3 but I find when the Idol 3 lags it fixes itself very quickly whereas the Smart Ultra 6 takes some time to recover.

The Idol 3 is also a much more managable size in my view. Even the OnePlus One is more managable than the Smart Ultra 6.

They're both good phones but I'd say the Idol 3 was better.

It's £75 cheaper, and roughly the same.

I never asked for alternatives to the SU6, yet you and Neil came in on a fanboy mission and won't shut up about the Idol 3. Nobody cares. Nobody asked about it. If stereo speakers and a slightly smaller size are a priority, people will choose the Idol 3. If they aren't (which I suspect is the case for the majority of people), they'll choose the SU6 and save £75.

I don't understand why you two keep posting in this thread.

Wow. Now available on Amazon from monday? That's a real no brainer. This is the must have budget phone at the moment for sure.

Edit. Quite tempted to rid my topaz blue s6 and get one of these. Humm

Why would stereo speakers on a phone be a big deal ? On a tablet I can understand but if you're going to listen to music or watch a movie on a phone for any length of time surely you'll be using earphones

I agree Vodafone is pants for customer service as I have dealt with them in the past. But this phone is great, if I do get a problem they will swapped it out for another one. So far, so good. No lag or performance issues.

Well personally I have never had a problem with Vodafone. Yes the CS can be pants if you get the overseas call centres. However if you are now a mobile customer with land line and broadband you will get their new call centre based in Glasgow and they seem to be great so far. Very helpful and well just brilliant.

I have the Silve/white and bought the black/grey for a relative, think I prefer the black tbh, Silver is a bit bling with the chrome surround.

So you get better service if you pay more. How fair.

What branding do these have? Interesting phone! Using a xperia Z as my n5 is off for an insurance repair, due back monday, tempted to sell both and look at this..

Vodaphone logo and "designed by Vodafone" on the back, few bits of bloatware that can be uninstalled without root bar one or two that aint intrusive.

**Edit, can all be uninstalled bar the "Updates" app without root.
