The guy can afford it, and it is god damn romantic !

Was at a wedding last month where the groom had done a similar thing, he had not only had to take a flight but also endure a 12 hour bus ride.

For someone you love, it's all worth it.

I can understand when someone's been away for ages, etc, etc, but given she's presumably been away for about a week, it's just lol to burn through £500 and travel for a significant proportion of the total time when she's just chilling with family/probably has stuff planned/etc. I see it as a bit wet, rather than romantic... but each to their own.

Everyone is different. I had absolutely no other plans this weekend anyway. Money isn't an issue, I want to see her, no further justification needed.

Arrived at 7:30 this morning. Just had a Francesinha for lunch - loving Porto!

Got to Gatwick North around 1am this morning. To find departures was shut and didn't open till 3am. Found a coffee shop, laptop, headphones and 3 episodes of the flash later...

I've had a 90min doze on the plane, but otherwise buzzing on adrenaline

Heading back to snooze for this afternoon. Have brought my camera with me. Porto is a stunning place
