So today I've returned from shopping to find somehow someones driving into my drivers side and damaged the door sill - luckily no damage to the door itself!

I know the obvious answer is take it to a repair shop and get a quote but anyone had dents removed / paint done to that area?

I suspect we are talking a couple of hundred to have it put right?

deep enough mate :( its more like its pushed in than actually "dented" if that makes sense? can see where its creased and split the paint

Unless you want half a ton of filler put on the dent needs to be pulled might be better off replacing the sill

Depends on the amount of damage, type of work you want and where you take it. Any decent garage should be able to do that for less than £200, they will pull as much out as possible then filler it, then paint and blend the whole sill.

Guess I'll drop in with the local guy who comes highly rated and see what he quotes I guess

:D Job done! I would assume no note left of course?
Nope nothing, more annoying is the fact I tend to park away from other cars to avoid the issue of my little lad swinging the door into someone elses car and yet this..

How low was the other car to inflict that damage??
Assumed car pal - looking back I suspect B&Q car park is the culprit

Door probably easier to repair/replace then the sill TBH!
Yep I am also pretty glad it didnt do both!

Is that the actual sill itself or does your car have a plastic cover / trim that goes over them? More likely if it is a sporty version but I can't see if you mentioned what the car was.

The sill itself pal - just a normal Fiesta :o

Yep, looks more like shopping trolley damage.

Why shopping trolleys are not provided with wheel brakes??

Main issue with shopping, finding somewhere to wedge the cart so it wont run away when you are trying to unload it!

Yep time to suck up the cost of having it fixed I guess!

Must have been those big long trolleys you get at B&Q, i've seen them roll around in car parks. They should make all trolleys like those luggage trolleys you get at airports where the wheels are clamped by default and you have to press on a lever when moving it.

Anyway that should not be a 1k job, my dad got his sill and door repaired for £400 after someone hit his car. Was just a local garage, they pulled as much out as possible, then filler-ed and painted.

In my opinion it's not worth spending over a grand to get a new sill welded in, it's just a Fiesta not a Rolls Royce.
