About time Imageshack banned from the forums?

With imageshack injecting adverts instead of the images people are posting, is it finally time this vile website is banned on OcUK?

I have always told people not to use imageshack.

Look at this lovely page for example:

Imageshack is worse than cancer.

Injects averts.
Slows down the entire forum loading.
Leaves hyperlinks.

Get rid of it. Imgur or nothing.

I don't see any images, all blocked icons, or missing images when I link to that page.

imgbox might be an alternative also
mainly I use imgur

Postimage for quick stuff that you don't care for lasting (though links seem to last for ages) or your own hosting for permanent stuff. Anything else is just a middle ground and potentially unreliable

The adverts is a new one on me. I was more miffed that they randomly started removing my old images for reasons unknown.

Used dropbox nowadays - at least I've got control of that.

It really annoys me, pages load fast but imageshack is always holding them back. It annoys me daily whereas cancer does not. Worse than cancer in my eyes

Back in 2011 my doctor had to break the bad news to me by telling me I had testicular cancer. For a few minutes I thought he was going to tell me I had imageshack. I was so relieved to find out it was only cancer!

I hate imageshack anyway,Nowhere as near as good as say Photobucket or IMGUR.

Must admit it makes the entire page look awful. Perhaps OCUK will start removing if imageshack start injecting adverts from other competitors. Imagine how well that will go down!!

I think the point we're missing here is ImageShack were fine up to around 2008 when posters such as EVH and myself were using them. Not much we can do now since they went to ****. Applying hindsight and telling community members they should have used another service is just unhelpful.

Given that ImageShack has changed format since those images were shown it's not surprising that they're not displayed. Probably been deleted by now as well.

Indeed. The thread in the OP is from 2006! What they're doing is simply a rolling-prune of images on their servers, replacing images with links to adverts to save on server space.

Whilst I agree there are other sites around now, the other sites aren't as old, and in 9 years time, you'll make another thread telling people not to use imgur :/

Are you being serious? Photobucket needs to be banned along with Imageshack. They are both awful. With Imgur in existence, I don't really know why you would still use Photobucket?

Ive used Photobucket or Imgur and not found any real difference apart from the interface.
Dont know what you find so awful about Photobucket but ive certainly never had a problem with it .
