Considering watercooling for my CPU

Hi,

I have an i5-4690K currently running with the stock cooler and it's the loudest thing in my case when I'm gaming. A friend of mine has a watercooled AMD Athlon X4 860K and has been telling me that watercooling is the way to go.

I have a Cooler Master Cosmos S case so plenty of room for a 120/240/360mm cooler at the top of the case. I'd rather go with an AIO setup for my first attempt, so... any recommendations? I've been looking at the Corsair H100i GTX so far.

Thanks!

That'll be fine, just about any Corsair AIO setup would be a massive improvement on what you're currently running. Well known brand, good aftersales support, If I wasn't running a custom loop that would be my choice.

Yup. I picked up a refurbished H110 a few weeks ago and I'm very impressed with the performance. It idles at 30c and 45c-ish whilst gaming - It's a little loud with the stock fans, but you're free to add your own.

Thanks for the replies, installed it yesterday, very pleased with it.

Although what the neighbours thought of my mate's cry of "Argh, it feels like a dead tentacle!" when I asked him to hold the hoses out of the way is anyone's guess.
