That ain't nuclear - ignoring the physics of it the thermal flash from a nuke even a small one would have done nasty things to those people filming up close - they wouldn't have been running away in minor panic.

I guess there is potential for a dirty bomb but that is another story.

The smallest known nuclear device was the davey crocket, made in the 50/60s. It was around 200-500 tons of tnt, or .2-.5 of a kiloton.
To put that into scale this is exactly 100t of actually tnt being exploded.

I think this Chinese explosion was a lot lot smaller.

The smallest viable version of the davy crockett happens to be... 20T equivalent.

Just heard from friend in Bangkok. They got to the airport and didnt go near area of Bomb. Thank God! Phew! Been a worrying few hours!
