What Are The Best European Cities to Live In?

Working and living amongst Canadians every day. Where I was people were very liberal and open minded. Maybe you were somewhere else. All places have differences, maybe you were in a less liberal part of Canada. I can only convey my personal experience.

I think the comment was more about the governmental and legal setup rather than the individual people themselves. Plenty of liberal people in the UK, for example.

Canada is a fantastic country, though, I agree with that.

Prague for me, I have lived there for 13 or so years.

Not too expensive, cheap rent, very nice bars and restaurants, amazing parks with beer gardens, lots to do on weekends, easy to travel to other parts of Europe, very very safe, you can ski on weekends, proper summer and winters.

Lastly the girls, just wow, easy to pick up, very nice looking at just much better than the uk.

Dayum you got me sold :D

I disagree. I've lived and worked in Canada and I found it very liberal, much more so than the UK. What are you basing your assertions on ? Have you even been there ? I doubt it.

No, never... (That's sarcasm btw)

What's that famous line from Blackadder about Queen Victoria? Not far off :p

It almost certainly depends on where in Canada you lived and worked, much like the U.S. There are lots of more liberal areas and more conservative areas.

And you've hit the nail on the head. The politics certainly isn't the most liberal around.

That said two of the four main parties are taking about legalising weed if they get elected in a couple of months. Depends if the conservatives get in again.

I've always fancies Canada, and around 4-5 years ago I was soooooo close to actually making the move. Although Calgary / Nisku / Edmonton make more sense for me, professionally, I think I would much prefer Vancouver if I'm honest.

I have recently been thinking about taking a "year out" from living in the UK. And moving somewhere in Europe. Wouldn't entertain Romania, as I found it dreadful when I was there a year or so ago. But have been thinking about Barcelona or similar sorts of cities. Prague could be a shout, but not sure the wife would like it there.

O&G? My long term goal is to get a nice house on the shorefront somewhere north of Vancouver. Neighbours not too close but close enough. At the moment all I could afford is a small shack 10hours boat ride away.. Not very practical!:p

I second Stockholm if you can afford it, very expensive place (not unusual to pay the equiv of £10 for a beer). My parents lived there for several years when I was a teenager/at uni so I spent a lot of time enjoying free time there. Trouble was, every time I landed there and wandered about, I felt like I was an eyesore - the people there are simply stunning!

Geneva or Zurich, followed by the scandinavian ciites like stockhol, copenhagen, oslso), then the major german cities like Munich, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Hamburg.
