Ryse: Son Of Rome. PC

Hi All,

Especially AMDMatt! Is there a profile on the horizon for Ryse?
I am using a AFR Friendly profile, I created myself at the moment, as the game was negatively scaling!
I removed flickering caused by AFR, by entering r_multigpu_temporalAA set to 1 in the config file in the game directory!
SS kills my performance outright, 1.5 or 2. So SMAA T1x for me all the way! More than likely because crossfire is goosed!

This is a far better game than I expected!!

Really good. Also fresh setting. Was not expecting it to feature the Brits as well as Boudica etc....

Amazing graphics and meaty combat. I wacked the difficulty up a little as I heared it's a short game and wanted it to last.

So far so good, quite a nice game. nothing taxing just chill back and cut up barbarians.
Have to say its quite a system hog even with my rig. I turned off vsyn and supersampling off to get it smooth.

I'm getting 50fps no matter what settings I use with sli 970s. Ive tried messing about with refresh rate but it will not budge above 50fps.
I also have the latest NVIDIA drivers installed
And this is at 1080p by the way

Specs are

4770k @4ghz
8gb ram
2x970s @1405mhz

Anyone have any ideas?

Played this a bit last night. Graphics are very good, although not revolutionary or anything. Gameplay is generic and bland.

<60 FPS on a 290X at 1080p suggests it's pretty poorly optimised too seen as BF4 hits 120+ while looking better overall!

Stunning looking game also has native 21:9 ultra widescreen support & looks glorious in that aspect ratio :D

Not the most complex gameplay ever but a very pretty, high FPS at all times hack n slasher all the same & currently on sale on steam (was 50% gone down to 35% discount).

Brilliant game. Better than I expected. Pretty and ran great to.

Very short, and some of the boss fights where terribly executed (Boudica for example) but other than that loved it.

Couldnt stop playing.

+1 and I do not even care for Crytek CEO much but here his company delivered a stunning looking game  although I bet MS paid a huge amount of money to fund this as an XB1 launch title there are so many complex cinematic scenes & some truly stunning nextgen PC graphics not just DX9 with DX11 FX bolted on but true DX11 graphics.

This is for now the best looking PC game by quite a long way until you actually play it with your own PC you cannot see the stunning lighting & textures in action they truly do look nextgen (screenshots & videos do not do it any justice) its well worth buying even if it does have simple gameplay the cinematic scale in places is quite impressive ;)

Sorry to bump up an old thread but I am very disappointed with my PC's performance in Ryse.

I have a 980 ti, i5 6600K (overclocked to 4.2 so far), 1440P Acer predator G Sync and 8 GB DDR4 RAM. Performance in the forest level is appalling, with dips to 40fps on a regular basis.

I just watched a YouTube video of the same card, same res, and a 3770K running this between 60-90 fps with no dips below 60. Why is my performance so bad?

I do get over 60 fps most of the time but the drops are noticeable and gsync doesn't make them any less bearable.
