Ryse: Son Of Rome. PC

I played it a few months ago while I was off work. I played it one day for about 2 hours, then when I came to play it again the next day, it said I was already 65% through. Shame cos it was a decent game, if a bit simple.

Sorry to bump up an old thread but I am very disappointed with my PC's performance in Ryse.

I have a 980 ti, i5 6600K (overclocked to 4.2 so far), 1440P Acer predator G Sync and 8 GB DDR4 RAM. Performance in the forest level is appalling, with dips to 40fps on a regular basis.

I just watched a YouTube video of the same card, same res, and a 3770K running this between 60-90 fps with no dips below 60. Why is my performance so bad?

I do get over 60 fps most of the time but the drops are noticeable and gsync doesn't make them any less bearable.

That cpu is probably holding you back. What is your gpu usage when it dips in the 40's?

As this is on sale on Steam this weekend, does anyone happen to know if SLI was fixed in the end? My google-fu is failing and I can't find a definitive answer.

^ Thanks, I had seen this but hadn't made myself at all clear.

I've not yet purchased the game as I'd like a feel for SLI performance first. I've found many "fixes", but most of the posts say that although the second GPU is utilised, it doesn't actually increase the frame rate at all. Therefore, I was wondering if anyone had first hand experience of the situation with more recent drivers and patches.

I took the plunge and purchased the game, and it seems SLI scaling is now very good. Shame the FOV is not adjustable, but at least it performs well.
