What a silly man 'keying £100k Aston Martin'

Guy keyed up my car, while i was sat in it. Over an argument about a parking space. I got out, punched him, he went down violently with a shattered cheek bone, and ended up in intensive care with a fractured skull, whilst i was donning a broken hand...

Police came (as well as paramedics) as the assailant wasn't really doing anything other than making weird noises on the floor, blowing bubbles.

Police asked me what happened. I explained, showed them the damage to my car, I wasn't even arrested. I was even asked if i wanted to press charges... Which i just said, no its ok. I sorta was just amazed i was allowed to walk away from the scene and my life wasn't over.

Big difference with me is that I live in the USA, and the cop put it down as self defense..

Let me guess, you are white and the guy you punched was black?

Can't believe the comments in here saying he deserves it! Come on guys, would you think that if it was your car? Hopefully they're stick him inside for it.
I like the idea of leaving the dash cam on, I must get one myself!

I don't think anyone has said he deserved it ?

lol check out this pensioner in action....

Pure spite. People are weird.

Holy ****balls! That makes me mad!

No doubt, that old **** was extremely jealous. After all, someone (presumably) (a lot) younger than him is driving something considerably better than he could ever afford.

Just goes to show, it isn't always the mindless "innit" generation that are complete cretins but also old people who, as the saying goes, should know better.

Real justice would be forcing the gob****e to pay for repairs themselves, out of their own pocket/possessions. Payment in one lump sum too.

Thousands of cars get scratched a year. This just happened to be a ridiculously expensive car. It's not newsworthy, move along.

Scumbags :( It doesn't have to be a great/expensive car, I have seen very ordinary looking cars that have been keyed.

Paint is much paint isn't it? Shouldn't it cost the same to fix a key scratch whether you have a Mondeo or a Maserati?

Not really.

That could be you blowing bubbles the next time and the assailant could be laughing about it on the internet. God bless America :)

Trouble is you can't have anything nice in Britain no more

I disagree - I've got loads of nice stuff and nothing bad happens to them.

Difference is I don't leave it in Hackney.

Not really.

Yes really.

Any body shop worth it's salt will repair a Mondeo wing to the same standard as an Aston wing and charge the same for both (taking into consideration size of wing and resultant labour cost etc). As estebanrey stated - the paint is the same - excepting exotics like pearls, plips and metal flake etc (source: I did a C&G in body work repair a few of years ago.).

you leave it in some backwater north though

one day the locals might learn that they don't have to be afraid of the magic carriage that moves without horses and you'll get scratched too :p

See that's all fine until being the USA he pulls a gun on you :p

Oh a C&G means you're an expert then? Go see how things are done in real insurance bodyshops and tell me that Mondeo wings are finished to the same quality as Aston Martin wings. Insurance companies dictate the amount of paint you have to measure out for each job and the amount of time it should take. Doesn't really make for a high class repair.

The quote was probably from Aston Martin.
