If the recent speed trials were anything to go by it will only be 300/15 unfortunately.

I'm still running a Superhub 1 with a separate router - I'm sure when I went to 152Mb they said that was about the most it could handle.

Am I going to need to request a new hub for this when it goes live?

it won't be getting 300/30 more likely 300/15 (any congestion will get the speed down to around 120-150) as it will be up to 300/15 and the upload sadly will be traffic management.

If you require a new router then they will tell you when the speed increase is available via your 'MyVirginMedia' account.

Sounds interesting currently on their 100mb package I might take the free upgrade then drop it back to reduce my bill while hopefully getting a new hub in the process

Any increase to upload is nice, not too bothered about download, 100Mb is plenty fast at the minute.
