DWP lies about sanctions

I've been on job seekers and the people there that you have to meet couldn't give a toss whether or not you have done your action plan or looked for a job. These "Coaches" are not there to help, they are there to tick a box stating that you turned up for the meeting.

I read the other week possibly on the guarding how they act like predators and give people they see as weak/vulnerable a really hard time.

so I take if these people have targets to meet?

A group of people already receiving welfare will get monthly checks ranging from around €900 ($1,000) for an adult to €1,300 ($1,450) for a couple or family per month. Out of the estimated 300 people participating, a group of at least 50 people will receive the unconditional basic income and won’t be subject to any regulation, so even if they get a job or find another source of income, they will still get their disbursement, explained Nienke Horst, a project manager for the Utrecht city government. There will be three other groups with different levels of rules, and a control group that will follow the current welfare law, with its requirements around job-seeking and qualifying income.

The experiment seeks to challenge the notion that people who receive public money need to be patrolled and punished, said Horst. The traditional criticism of basic income is that it does not incentivize people to work, and thereby damages the economy.

“People say they are not going to try as hard to find a job,” she told Quartz. “We will find out.” Her view, however, is optimistic: “We think that more people will be a little bit happier and find a job anyway,” she said.

If you gave our jobseeker claimants an extra grand a month, half would be spent on booze, fags, ear piercing babies and nike trainers. The other half would be in Poland.

seems to have done the opposite in other trials in the past, youth employment went down but more people furthered their education

The DWP have been doing the same thing on Twitter; creating fake account and then retweeting through their official account.

Of course, because all jobseeker claimants are wasters.

I think its a good idea, would take a while for peoples attitudes to change, but its a positive step. Regular people want to work and earn a living not drinking, smoking and getting your ear's pierced all the time.

what about the people on the sick?? ;)
or are you immune to this when you spend half of yours on Papa Johns Pizza's?

DWP is a shambles, i've been on JSA in the past and it's hard to believe the amount of ******** they peddle...

So many lies, so so many lies.

It scares me sometimes. A system which some yes may abuse (very minority I'd say) which was designed as a safety net has turned out like it has. The government are attempting to strip it away bit by bit by progressively demonising poor people.

IDS is also genuinely not fit for purpose, he has made so many screw ups. Universal job match was a joke and cost millions and now universal credit will cost millions and I bet you it's going to be a giant mess.

The DWP should be rewarded as they didn't have to waste money on paying for real stories. Such a non story...

The Dutch have always been progressive in their thinking, I'm sure it turn out positive for them - they are culturally very different from us

Denmarks prison system has one of lowest re offending rates I think too, they had some island that functions like a town and make them work real jobs / learn skills so when they come out of prison they can get a job and not re offend.

Too forward thinking for the USA / UK though.
