DWP lies about sanctions

Denmarks prison system has one of lowest re offending rates I think too, they had some island that functions like a town and make them work real jobs / learn skills so when they come out of prison they can get a job and not re offend.

Too forward thinking for the USA / UK though.

how well is that working out for the recent additions to their population?

what about the people on the sick?? ;)
or are you immune to this when you spend half of yours on Papa Johns Pizza's?

I'm not on Jobseeker's Allowance. If I could work I'd be out tomorrow looking for a job.

I was making a tongue in cheek generalisation there. I realise many people who claim JSA are genuine people looking for work, but I still maintain that in many areas of the country, the extra money would be spunked up the wall.

And Cainer, that comment regarding the pizza was little below you mate. I would expect better from you. I probably spend £20 a month out of £1100. It's hardly blowing it, is it?

I believe your thinking of an island prison in Norway.

A sex offender escaped from it recently

It's quite amusing when people don't seem to have any sort of awareness of their own financial situation when they're decrying scroungers.

A facebook friend, from a staunch working class labour background, was hailing the tories as the party to get to grips with the benefit fraudsters and the ones to get the country back on track. He is also a single parent working in a job paying little over minimum wage, one wonders if he has had to claim any state benefits to fund his child.

That aside, he also couldn't see the irony in his statements about some people choosing some benefits as a way of life whilst ignoring the fact that he, due to his own gluttony, wound up collapsing at home at the age of 30 and needed a gastric bypass as he was too weak to stop himself filling his face with cakes.

its the making up lies that makes people question the state and other privacy laws they are destroying makes you wonder if you could trust them. If they fake this then what else have they faked.

hardly - it is just a leaflet/flier where they want to give some examples of sanctions

I'm currently on JSA and the whole thing is a mess, shuttle you in and out like cattle. My appointment with my "work coach" is meant to last 20 minutes, i'm rarely sat at their desk for less than 2 mins before i just have to sign a sheet and leave. They've supposedly helped me improve my CV but i've still had no interview invites since signing on, 6 MONTHS ago. I live nearly 45 minutes from the nearest large source of employment and rely on the bus, obviously employers here don't like that. I would much rather be working than sat on the dole. One "adviser" in the job centre once said to me "I should sanction you but i haven't got the time" despite doing what i was asked to do by my work coach, they treat you like scum.

I can't imagine people were queuing up to have their face and dole-story put in the leaflet, so why wouldn't they add generic pictures and examples?

Oh the irony of complaining about misrepresentation while deliberately misrepresenting what happened.... The quotes that have been made up had nothing to do with sanctions.

What happens when the DWP accidentally tweets from the wrong account:

Oops. :p

They couldn't get real accounts from people, so they decided to make a lot of **** up. Those being heavily sanctioned are the ones suffering from this mess, whether it's those who can't pay bills and barely get along in life or decide to end it all and turn to suicide.

Not the least surprised having been on JSA before, utterly incompetent people running the show. Work coach, A4e and all that crap is target driven bs.

You aren't allowed to be happy or have treats SCUMBAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are supposed to be miserable and live on a pittance apparently.

its horrible, you've got to meet with someone for a few minutes and you get free money... and then for the rest of the time you've got, well, all the time to yourself

so dehuminising

It's not free, you pay for it via insurance premiums.

Have you claimed JSA?

I'm not sure having it constantly looming over your head you could lose your benefit at any moment is very nice. In fact i've been there and it's really really not.

10 minutes late for your appt because genuinely bus was late? well.... potential sanction.

No room for error with them. Trust me. It's all gone a bit over the top now.
