What used to be a UK
A few years ago I got attacked walking my dog by a gang of youths. I managed to smack one of them in the chops which caused them to back off whereby I was stuck in a bloody field, in the dark and in the pouring rain with no real means of escape. Verbal ensued for about fifteen mins before me deciding "sod this for a bunch of soldiers" and walking off a different way.

Tonight almost the same thing happened again, in a different area, with similar related scum: but this time they were "tanked -up" and attempted to set their bull -mastiff/ Presa Canario on my dog. More verbal but very close to getting my dog ripped to pieces :(

In Staffs? Sucks man - based on the posts in this forum alone I'd say Staffordshire is the roughest county in the UK.

It all depends where you live in Staffs, but sadly Stoke is a rough town and has been for many years. Now scum is scum and sadly there is too much of it and I can imagine how you might feel trapped OP. My advice is move if it's ruining your life, find a nice place to find some large 'associates' who can put the fear of **** into said cretins as sadly that is often what it takes as the law is too busy to deal with such things and when it does, the courts keep letting us all down.

Is there a reason people live in areas like this? Surely most people (unless you are a child and your parents live there) have the option of moving

I would just move somewhere nicer. Everyone should be able to walk around any time of day and feel safe in their neighbourhood. Maybe get a body-cam to capture the perpetrators, if they see you're wearing one they'll probably be far less likely to pounce on you. The area i lived in when i was in uni was bad, couldn't walk around many places in the dark without being approached by a group of yobs.

I would just move personally. Sad to hear that's happened to you OP, hope you and your dog are ok. Little shaken i should imagine.

The children's play area in my village was half destroyed yesterday evening by scumbags from the next town. They also proceeded to harass my youngest daughter and her friend. She came and told me, I had to go and pickup my oldest son so took a look at the play area as I drove by. The offending scumbags had disappeared, picked up my son and drove back to the village, stopped near the play area to take a look. My oldest son got out of the car and went to get the number of the house where the 5 lads were visiting so I could call the police when I got in. As I drove through the village I spotted them walking back towards the play area.

My first thought was, 5 of them 1 of my son, I couldn't leave the car as I had my 5 y/o with me so I called my nephew. He ran from his house and caught up with them just after my son had stopped them to have words about what they had been saying to his sister and had done to the park. There was no violence or anything, the 5 were already at a loss for what to do when my son got to them, he's quite imposing for a 15 y/o, even though the lads that did this were his age they just stood there taking a verbal battering.

The biggest one started crying and then as my nephew called the police 2 more of them joined in. The police came but not sure what happened as the lads had retreated back to the house they were visiting. The play area is a total mess, this is a small village and
that play area had been well-kept for around 20 years, never anything other than maintenance needed. Now it looks like an inner city dump.

The scum even find their way into the nicest, quietest places.

I went on a course in the army with someone from Staffordshire, he was a bit simple - he had a funny knot for a cap badge, it looked a bit like something you'd buy from Greggs - 'Why do you have a Pasty on your cap badge mate?' we asked... he bit right away... so for the rest of the course he was refereed to as 'pasty head'

Anyway the impression I got from pasty head was that he'd basically grown up in a very chavvy town.

The Staffs Knot looks nothing like pasty at all, in fact if anything it's more akin to a pretzel. And you have the nerve to refer to him as 'simple'?

Get onto the Sentinel, they love this type of thing. Especially when they can get a mug shot of you like  :(
