So when you or your staff are in a meeting, and it's taking longer than planned and you notice it's going to over run and cause you to be late with one of your paying customers you just don't phone them? And would expect your staff not to either and just as what happened to his dad lose the money from the customer you failed to make your meeting with?
Yeah because meetings and interviews are completely the same thing.
If you stepped out of a meeting so you didn't lose the company money you would be praised, if you stepped out of an interview to tell some moron at the job centre that you would be late because you are in an interview, which you would then probably get sanctioned for somehow throwing the interview, then the employer would just mug you off and go with someone who doesn't interrupt the interview to use their phone.
If he doesnt make an effort why should you!
Thats the spirit, a fast track to success if ever there was one.
Theres a reason why people don't make any effort at job centre, I've seen people turn up in interview clothes and over the weeks stop shaving and start wearing casual clothes after they realise how they get treated. If the job centre treated people with respect and dignity then maybe people would be more inclined to make an effort.
