Just bought an iPad Mini 2 in the Apple store Aberdeen. I got home and compared it to my wife's iPad Mini 1 and they look the same. So I checked for screen resolution on this website : http://www.whatismyscreenresolution.com/

Shouldn't it be 2,048 x 1,536?

Looks like the pixels in the Web browser rendering are being doubled, or the website is simply reporting the wrong res.

In fact, on Apple's retina screen devices, a pixel is no longer equal to a physical dot on the screen. It has become an arbitrary measurement which represents 2x2 hardware pixels, which seems silly in a way, but also makes sense for backward compatibility.

Mine says 360x640 on my Nexus 5 (1080p).

If you can't see the difference between 163ppi and 326ppi, there's always specsavers.

Exactly. My wife sees no difference either. I just downloaded high res images to both and viewing in the photo editor, you wouldn't know which was which.

No different to buying a BMW when a Mondeo does the job tbh.....

Does it? Do BMW employ sweatshop workers paid a pittance to work in dangerous and contaminated environment where many die or are killed? Do BWM make a massive profit off the back of third world workers? Apple are responsible for environmental destruction and unethical business practises due to the way the make their products.

It's not the same at all. You are not paying for a better quality product, you are paying for a name because you think you are hip and trendy or better than everyone else or some such nonsense.

Apple stuff is made by Foxconn which make most computer devices. So it can really be implied to pretty much any PC, Xbox, PS4, Laptops, Tablets and lots of others....

If you ever met me you would see how untrue this is. :)
