Hi,

I wanna get into pc gaming and i want to build my first pc that will run games at 1080p 60fps easily, looking to spend £500-£700.

Any recommendations on some builds.

I was looking at the r9 290x but seems like the 300 series has replaced them

Nice thank you,

I also do video editing and rendering would this build be suitable for that as well.

Yes. Obviously i7 and more RAM would speed things up. But that would impact the video card and therefore gaming capability unless you stretched budget. Some software also makes use of the video card so that would help. £30 more for 16GB RAM.

YOUR BASKET
1 x TeamGroup Elite Black 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (TPKD316G1600HC11DC01) £68.99

Also would i need to get any extra fans or an external cooler for this one

The stock CPU cooler will do the job. Recommend setting minimum RPM to around 1400 (or 50%) with max 100% set to 75C temperature, through the BIOS. You could also add a side case fan to help GPU cooling, if needed. But I'd see how it goes first. If you were going to spend extra on fans from the start it might be worth looking at alternative cases.

Wait a day or two to see if someone else can spec something better, just in case. Maybe pull trigger on a nice daily offer tomorrow (or weekend - those tend to be interesting).

So the i7 would be too much for this graphics card?

No. The cost.

Im not sure, my first build so i dont know a lot about whats best, so 250Gb isnt good for fast storage then?

No. It's fast, but only 250GB in size. That should be fine to begin with and you could add more storage easily later on.

If it's your first ever build, ask all the questions you need.
