Another Job Centre Plus, sanctioning rant!

Different circumstances but I found myself in a similar predicament not so long ago. The generosity of friends went a long, long way. They asked not for one penny back, but to pay the kindness forward.

I'd be glad to help out, OP. How is best?

If that's the case it is awful; despite amigafans comments.

However the first sanction; aren't appointments every 2 week like clockwork more or less? If you knew you should have had an appointment that week shouldn't you have asked? Seeing as, by the sounds of it, you are in a position where that money is everything to you?

2nd one does suck, but like others have said, get everything in writing. Take along your interview confirmation when you go down there today, at least it's something to show them.

How did the interview go btw?

He has a job, role-looking for a job, happens to be a job in itself and can be one of the hardest jobs to do.

What a load of old carp, he had a regular appointment which he's missed on two occasions. He knows the Job Centre are just looking for an excuse not to "payout" and does then same think again!

I'm not saying it's not "harsh" but if it was "easy" it wouldn't be a "sanction".

But the media said everyone on the dole has a house built from large screen tv's for walls ? you can thank the people that voted the nasty party in.

On a side note just fight fire with fire record every interview and even sign on you attend and claim everything under the sun.

It now turns out they've suspended my claim entirely because get this, I informed them I had an Interview on Tuesday which conflicted with one of their time wasting meetings but was told it's okay, you don't have an appointment Tuesday it's been rearranged for Wednesday. Only to find out today that guess what... I did have an appointment on Tuesday! Arrrrrrrrgghhhh!!!!!!!

Isn't today Thursday? Wouldn't you have found out yesterday at Wednesday's rearranged meeting (which hadn't been rearranged)?

Here we go - bashing the OP starts.

You're an utterly vile man.

Pahaha. Why do you take everything I say so seriously. You are on the internet.

Cheesyboy, imo, asked a good question. OP wanted Tuesdays appointment re-arranged to Wednesday. He found out today (Thursday) that his appointment on Tuesday was never re-arranged. Implying that he went in today, so would have missed either Tuesday or Wednesdays appointment any how.

It's hardly bashing, when he is the one informing us of his predicament, and someone pulls him up on it.

Plot twist: OP can't distinguish what day it is and just missed his appointment.

Well indeed.

(I happen to have sympathy for your GTX 970 comment too - it was a little jarring to see Mr Vidar popping up on MM swinging offers for 980s and the like a couple of months after coming cap-in-hand to GD for £20 or so to sign up for a fathers-for-justice type thing last time.)

Go to Calais and come back as a refugee you'll get a flat within 2 months full rent paid and £35 spending money a week.Oh yea you don't have to pay council tax or utility bills either as they throw in free electricity and gas.As a british citizen you might get put up in a dingy b&b somewhere in the sticks.

If you rearrange an appointment it should be as carved in stone, it would make sense that a job interview should take precedence especially in the view of an organisation that is supposed to help/encourage unemployed to find a job.

I suppose in view of some of the things I have read about this organisation the opposite could also be true. if he had gone to the center for his scheduled meeting and missed the job interview I wager they may have then sanctioned him for missing a job opportunity had they found out about the missed job interview.
