So I'm 44 now and have started to feel uncomfortable with the way I dress - at the weekends typically jeans and T-Shirts with stuff like Fraggle Rock or Morph on the front. Frankly, looking in the mirror I've come to realise I'm probably a bit too old for that kind of stuff!

I used to shop in Top man for my clothes, then Burton but now it's more likely to be Next or M&S.

Have to admit I shop for clothes only 2-3 times a year but I'm starting a new job shortly and need to get a new work wardrobe as my shirts/suits/shoes are all showing their age - I'm thinking TM Lewin for Shirts, Moss Bros or M&S for a few Suits and a nice pair of Paul Smith Shoes or two...

What do others in the same age bracket tend to wear and where do you do your main clothes shopping - both casual and formal?

At least wear a polo shirt or a real shirt.

(Said by the 40+ yearold man sitting at work in a pair of mantaray cargo shorts, sandals with no socks and a superdry polo) :D

I too wear jeans and a T shirt (wierd fish et al) at the weekend but only because I dress fairly smart for work and I am 63. I usually buy decent stuff though no TKmaxx.

Luckily I have kept a slim profile 10st 5' 11" and the casual look still suits otherwise I may have ditched it.

I use M&S for workwear, trousers and collared shirts. They seem to fit and be smart.

superdry, the clothing of choice for all 40-something men who still think they've got it ;)

If you want cheaper shirts/polos or plain t's etc... try ASOS. You'll hate most of it but you can get a crap load of stuff and just send it back for free (collect plus returns service)

Never heard of Superdry so its not a case of me thinking I've still got it, I dont even think I have!

You've been too old for that stuff for about 34 years.

My dad bought a light-hearted t-shirt with a picture of a comical looking beaver on recently and I took him out for the day. The t-shirt was too juvenile for my tastes, but he's an old man and he does what he wants so I didn't make a fuss. Anyway, we'd been out for the best part of the day when I finally studied his t-shirt. It was ostensibly an advert for a brand of alcohol... 'Beaver Liquor' to be exact.

Needless to say, my poor oblivious dad no longer wears that t-shirt.

TKmax

Spend 30mins looking through rails upon rails of dirge avoid eye contact with strange men with foreign accents and questionable dress sense. Find single T-shirt and purchase to get out of dodge.
