Just had a guy pull out in front of me on a roundabout

I was coming from the Shell station, turning right into Fallibroome Road. He was coming from Chelford Road.

I hit him square on the side of his drivers door (2002 Mini One) Which is roughly in the middle of his vehicle, it hit my nearside front/front.

This can't go any way except in my favor surely?

Should I be involving an AMS or go straight to his insurance?

Easy to twist the story.

I pulled out onto the roundabout before Pdigm entered, traffic slowed down and Pdigm wasn't looking ahead and hit me.

You need a witness here.

No witnesses unfortunately. There is however a crime reference number of an officer on the scene shortly after.

No he didn't. However stroke of luck, it's the same insurance company, who see no reason to do anything other than put me down as non-fault.

Eugh i hate that roundabout its so small and people go flying through it.

Maybe cctv from the tesco got it but i doubt they will show you :(

50/50 if he's being an idiot/no witness's. Fingers cross the insurance should just side with you. See if there is any CCTV nearby which could have captured it

to me it is other drivers fault. you have the right on the roundabout. if anything otherwise it must be his problem to prove that he was not at fault or 50/50. Involve your insurer ASAP.

don't always work that way with the insurances. i was parked at an round about to getting ready to pull out when cleared i was well within my lines untill this car came racing round the round about wide and cliped my front end he carried on for a 30-40 yds futher up the road.we exchanged details and he said at the time it was his fault as he was in a rush to sort his ex wife out. then a then an week later i had an letter from his solictors that the accident was my fault as i failed to stop ? ( i was stationary) i phone my insurance up about it and they was siding with them. only later on i found out that this person was a off- duty police officer.i argued the toss with the insurance

Well if it is 50:50 then they get an excess off both of you.

Fault claim also means you both get a larger increase at renewal.

That would be the cynical view.

edit:

Misread your post. Yeh there's no real point disputing your version of events other than getting you to pay an excess. They are repairing both cars whatever happens.

Unlucky, what if the officer wasn't on the scene? That would have added a pickle surely. Dashcam recommendations aplenty in the other thread for the future!
