Hey All,

So I'm buying the MGSV console when it's released, I want to take the opportunity to upgrade the HDD as I've filled the drive on my current PS4.

What are the current best recommendations for HDD's to replace the base one on a ps4?

Got the same drive. Was an easy swap, managed to do it without damaging the external enclosure so was able to reuse it with the 500gb drive out of PS4.

Stock seems good for reserve and collect, just did one locally then decided we are going out somewhere else so reserved on nearer there lol i dont think it matters they just put it back out if you dont collect

Just grabbed one of these and stripped it out, didnt realise that they were samsung drives inside! :) Big Boss will be please with his upgrade! :)

is there a 2TB SSHD that would fit yet?

I'm also getting one of the MGSV ones when they're out, but I'm looking for a 2TB SSHD instead of a regular HDD... Not sure they exist though :S

They do but you need to use a Nyko Data bank which would make a limited edition console look stupid.

Get a standard console and a nyko data bank (from amazon US) and then you can use any desktop drive in the ps4.

I use a nyko data bank and a 2TB SSHD.

The mechanical part is 7200rpm opposed to the laptop version which is only 5400rpm.

So I get the best of both worlds fast mechanical drive + ssd cache. So it flies, I times Destiny and I load 5-7 seconds faster into the tower over the stock drive from people within the same fireteam.

Obviously single player games is where the biggest differences are made or to games with longer loading times (GTA).
