need a change

I did a check and does this mean I can get Fibre Optic now ?

I need one good for games, but in this house mum pays for line rental and I pay for the internet provider, so I need an ISP that offers without line rental and without telephone services too as we keep it separate

Was looking at Zen, but quite pricy, im currently paying £21 a month for unlimited use

According to that you can get fibre, and you must be very close to the cabinet.

PlusNet will provide fibre only onto an existing line without charging too much extra.

Just go with Plusnet or Sky for both line rental and fibre broadband, put it in your mum's name and transfer her the broadband cost each month.

What's the difference? Don't make life hard for yourself. :p

ah ok, thanks for that :)

Are Plusenet good then ? I thought they were bad

Nothing much wrong with Plusnet. The phone waiting times have gone up recently, but you do usually get to speak to someone who can effectively deal with your problem.

I'd choose them in preference to TalkTalk, Sky, BT and Virgin.

I've been with them for FTTC for a couple of years and have no regrets. If they really go downhill I'll probably jump to Zen, but I'll be paying a lot more.

Plusnet have been great for me, don't go for the 'up to 38' package though as it's gone from 40/10 to 40/2 for new customers. Looking at the availability checker there you can get full speed any way.
A lot of people like sky fibre, and they are doing some great deals currently, with a 12 month contract (plusnet are still 18 months) which might be worth looking in to.

I'm with Sky Fibre (Pro package) and it's brilliant. Low pings, reliable never dropped speed.

Thanks

what do you mean by "40/10 down to 40/2" ?
is that just the 38 package? I was thinking of going for the 76 one myself

thanks for the info

thanks

well so far,

PlusNet is 76/20 @ £20 a month + £16 line rental
SKY is 76/? @ £30 a month , £16.40 line rental
Zen is 76/20 @ £30 a month , 16.99 line rental

any others I should consider? £30 a month is quite a lot

Don't forget Topcashback, normally over £100 cash back for Sky at least :)

Current offer on quidco, expires in 3 days:
£80 cashback Save £120 with 12 months half price Sky Fibre Unlimited

Not sure if that is for 38 or 76 down though?
