Ashley Madison user accounts leaked online

i dont condone it by any means, but i disagree with you there. I think woman are also keen for affairs but just want different things out of it. Men want something new, woman want the attention and affection that someone new in their life will give.

Again, its a horrible thing to do, but i can guarantee its not a 99% men site.
Every other site is 99% men, so why wouldn't a niche site that caters for cheating (probably the one thing all women can agree they hate) have the same ratio?

nah most dating sites will just have a slight skew

tis the adult/hook up sites that are full of dumb blokes messaging fake profiles

exception to the massive skew with hookup sites/apps is probably tinder(still a big skew but not as much as most) which has managed to make itself more socially acceptable and appealing to women

I think there's a distinction between quick hook up sites and sites that cater for longer term discrete relationships.

Also, both men and women hate cheating (except when they are the one that's doing it :p) I haven't looked at the statistics, but just from talking to friends and family cheating is certainly not a 90% men endeavor. Women do it too.

We all know most women really want to play the orange county, desperate house wives, woman in power, affair behind the husband, type role really. It's cool these days :p

women tend to be suckers for the whole emotional thing - guys are much more likely to just go looking for hookups where as women are likely to fall for the guy at work who's managed to convince her they have a 'connection' etc..

Welp! Turns out that there was close to zero real active women on the site!

This chap analysed the data to find out which users were real by their activity. In a database of 37 million accounts, the number of real female users could be as low as roughly 12 thousand! That means as little as 0.03% of the users may have been real women :D

I know it's a Gizmodo article, but it's an interesting read

"I didn't cheat on you honey as it was statistically nearly impossible" :p
