Adding 2x 8gb ram to 2x 4gb sticks?

As title, is it OK to add 2 sticks of 8gb to 2 sticks of 4gb that are all ready fitted? My final plan is to have a total of 32gb.

Or should I just swap the 2x 4gb and replace with 8gb sticks. Just thinking of my upgrade path.

It's fine to add 2x8Gb to your existing RAM.

If you need 32GB DDR3 is just buy it now, it won't be long till prices rise in wouldn't have thought.
 
It's not impossible to mix memory even if overclocking.


I didn't say it was. These things aren't categorical, mixing high density kits can be a lot more hassle than it's worth - and nine times out of ten will require more tuning than people are willing to put in or understand. I meant memory overclocking BTW, if that wasn't obvious
