win 8.1 aero

so google has brought up 2 results on this subject, first being a registry tweak that i've tried and doesnt work, the second is a rather annoying bit of software that does the job but then pesters you.

anyone come across a good way of bringing aero themes to win 8.1? or alternately any good way of making it look less boxy and terrible than it does by default?

Install Windows 7.

Would also like to know some answers to this. I've tried the software on my Windows 8.1 tablet but it didn't want to work at all. Didn't try the registry edit but I'd prefer the easier option.

The registry edit doesnt work now, at least it didnt for me, shame really as its the biggest thing i miss about 7, since i started using it again at work i forgot how good it looked

Thats the one I tried, it works, but you have a lovely watermark on your desktop and endless popups
