Anyone know if a 770 GTX is good for a 144hz monitor?
Not talking about FPS, just the refresh rate.
I have an Asus MG279Q 144hz monitor but I don't see an option higher than 120hz in either Monitor Properties, or NVidia Control Panel.
I'm connecting via DisplayPort-MiniDisplayPort.

There's another cable you need to use to get full 144hz if im not wrong, sorry i couldn't help any more.
Some body will answer soon

Displayport handles 144hz fine. I have a RoG Swift I run with both my desktop (DP->DP, GTX980) and my laptop (miniDP->DP, 650m) and both do 144hz perfectly fine

There is also no reason the 770 can't do 144hz - my friend has a 690, which the same chip as the 770, just two of them, and that works on his swift.

I can only imagine your screen being a Freesync screen just only allows up to 144hz with freesync or something.

If you are using an nVidia GPU, you really should have bought a GSync monitor rather than freesync.

Hmm.
Yeah, not really interested in Freesync or Gsync (especially not Gsync with it's additional £150+ expense) I just went for this monitor because it seems to be the best 27" 1440p 144hz monitor out there for the money. Colour, low response time and input lag etc etc.
So this is strange.
I wonder if the cable itself is faulty. I've read that not all displayport cables are created equally.

Im sure its called duel link cable to get the 144hz its nothing to do with your monitor

That's for DVI monitors, and 1080p 144hz ones at that. He has a displayport monitor. There is no such thing as a displayport dual link cable.

That said, I don't notice the difference between 120hz and 144hz on my RoG Swift, in fact, I have it set to 120hz in windows so the GPU idles.

If you're not fussed about Freesync/GSync, I wouldn't worry about 120hz/144hz, they are pretty close together anyway.

Well, yes. I doubt I'd notice a huge difference between 120hz and 144hz, it's more the concern of something that I've paid quite a bit of money for not working as it should.

I've had a million problems with getting the right cable for my 144Hz monitor (when I first got it), so that's probably the best place to start.
Can you use a dual link DVI-D cable instead? And make sure it's a proper one xD
