Hi All,

Running out fast with space on my 840 500GB SSD, quick question, if I was to buy another 850 500GB can I use both drives together to continue to play games from Steam, Origin, uPlay, GoG, etc.
Don't want to stripe them or anything, can you have 2 installation paths at once?

I know with steam you can have multiple libraries so you can create a second one on the new SSD and continue to game like nothing has happened :)

I had some games installed to the OS SSD and then I have a second SSD with another library on with all my games there

You can with both Steam and Origin.

With Steam you have multiple libraries on different drives, while on Origin you can move the library and new games will be installed there while games already installed stay in their previous location.

For steam you can sure! you can either use a tool to move your steam libary called steam mover or use the mklink command with command prompt to set up a symbolic link. So it will appear on your c drive but actually the contents of the game will be on the other drive. Sort of how shortcuts work on your desktop.

No need to do that, just go into the Steam settings and add the second drive as another library. You can even move the games with no hassle, just copy over the game folder under commons and the relevant app id file (you can find the ID for the game by checking the end of the URL of the Steam page).

I have steam and all games on a second SSD so when I format my OS drive I just re create the steam shortcut and game shortcuts then all is good again
