The Asus MAXIMUS VIII HERO Owners Thread....

only way to find out try another ram, which can be a hassle, not like you got a shop to try another ! been there myself in the past, maybe just try 1 ram installed

I have tried everything mate, pulling my hair out now, im just getting error 32 all the time now: cpu post memory initialization, going to phone overclockers this am, cant get into boot, well monitor dont even get a signal or keyboard work, but i think thats just because it dont even get that far to start with, cant try other ram without buying it, a real pain.

yeah thats what i got

Nice its back in stock, so managed to cancel my 2666 order and getting same as you now 3000, so at least i will know for sure its compatable, did it boot up straight away ok for you ?, just got to hope my motherboard and cpu is ok. cheers

it came up as 2133mhz, i manually changed speed / timings and voltage to get advertised speed, i wouldnt use the xmp , that didnt let cpu work on low voltage when idle , it seems it interfered with cpu, when inserted manually no issues

uscool, got your 980ti yet mate, also when fitting your NH-D14, instructions say to tighten the screws until they stop, is that how you installed your fan, cheers

Hi, no tomorrow :D , there are no screws to tighten the fans, its a clip

I mean when you put the spacers and the backplate on, then when you use the 2 spring screws to connect the cooler itself to the mounting bars, instructions say to tighten the screws until they stop.

as soon i feel it tightens i just slightly tighten more, but not forcing it and not letting it just settle as it tightens, in the middle i guess, don't force tightening it

did you sort the issue of no booting ? RAM ?

I think the screws/threads on the cooler has a fail safe on it, as in manual it says tighten until you feel the stop, so it cant be over tighten, i sent back to overclockers the motherboard to be tested, and it was replaced and hopefully new one comes tomorrow, had great service by them, cant fault them.

Do you turn your power off at the back of your case, i have to otherwise all motherboaqrd lights stay on, and keyboard lights, only trouble is, i loose all my bios settings each time i do this ? strange.

i dont turn off from back, just windows shut down, my case is in corner and dont have any windows so no idea about leds, keyboard wireless end led turns off, i do know this motherboard has feature which you can charge our phone while pc is off, never used it myself and i think its off in bios as default

I still useing a old wired keyboard in the keyboard/mouse socket, not usb, i have window so lights are bright, strange keyboard lights still on thou, no big deal i guess.

dont think it matters, as it controls both same even if they on different headers and you get RPM reading for both fans

I know as you say it dont matter, but did you yourself put both fans on just the cpu fan header with supplied splitter like i did, or each fan to its own cpu header ? cheers, oh has your 980ti arrived yet ?
