Found out everyone at my work haven't been paid today along with myself.

Turns out HSBC are having problems which is causing thousands of people not to get paid. Good timing for a bank holiday weekend!

Anyone else have the same problem?

We've had problems like that before at work, although our company banks with RBS. Usually gets sorted by mid morning.

FirstDirect customer here (owned by HSBC and all the back end stuff is shared) and my salary was paid today.

I would suggest you check again in a few hours, they are pretty on the ball, unlike some banks I know of.

Well, that's what your easy access savings a for - time to get dipping.

My company are with HSBC, as am i, and my salary went in this morning. One of my work colleagues who is with Santander hasn't been paid, she is currently at the bank trying to get it sorted.

With HSBC myself and no issues here (although I believe my employer banks with Barclays)

National problem though, but assume it is only affecting employers that have HSBC accounts

If it wasn't for the national story, then I would have said it was your payroll department "sent the wages" too late - as there are cutoffs for transfers to occur. Seen that happen in the past and the ensuing chaos as many un-organised people came in requesting cash advances.

Yeah our agency staff have all been moaning (understandably) thinking it was the Agency's fault they didn't get paid.

What annoys me with these things is the fact they update the situation on Twitter. Not everyone uses Twitter.
Use your own website!
Fortunately money went in but couple of payments due so hope they go out! Guess late fees etc could be claimed back in these circumstances?

The issue isn't which bank you deal with rather which one your employer does. I'm in the same boat. About 250 here haven't been paid.

Something tells me HSBC's letterbox may be getting a visit from a disgruntled OcUK member some time soon. :D
