ebay sale issue advice

I recently sold some components on ebay (motherboard, cpu and cpu cooler)

I detailed in the item description that there were two cracks on the Arctic freezer mount as seen in picture but it still holds perfectly well. I took off the cooler and replaced it before the sale to make sure it did hold, which it did.

Now I get a reply almost a week after the sale saying

Hiya, got a problem with the Arctic Freezer Pro 7 mounting plate. Its not just a crack - its literally fallen apart and I'm unable to screw the heatsink on to it. Would you be able to send me a replacement please?

I included the screws and four mount clips which hardly needed any force to hold the cooler on.

I imagine he has applied too much force on the mount and it has broken off. What am I to do in this situation?

Ill dispute it and show the pictures of the cracks on the mount as per item description. His word against mine isnt it, except I have photos of the cracks on the mount

pictures don't count, I know...it's crazy but I been speaking to about five different ebay employees and they always say the same thing.

Just because the cracks held when you reattached it does not mean that after being posted and bashed about in transit they will hold again when received. It could well be that the cooler has finally broken and that the buyer has done nothing wrong.

You could just offer them a partial refund for the cost of a cooler as that one can be bought for around £15 inc delivery, and that would be brand new.

As you have already bought and sold on the MM I am amazed that you even thought of using eBay. Aren't there enough threads already telling tales of woe dealing with problems when using eBay...?
 
I can't see the problem. You listed the fault and included pictures of it. The seller bought it knowing of said fault. Why would eBay agree with the buyer? It's like me buying a car that's listed as spares/repair and complaining it failed an MOT.
