Need a cheap compass. FAST!

As title. Anywhere on the high street that might have one for a reasonable price? Ebay would be normal port of call but I cant wait for delivery. Not exactly something your average pound shop will have and I suspect specialist shops will be a rip off.
 
It might help if you said what you want to use it for (beyond the fact it presumably has to point North reliably) - you can go into your local Blacks, Millets, Go Outdoors and find compasses starting from about £2 but if you've got a specific purpose then that might mean some types are more suitable than others.
 
I did get one in a pack of cheap 'Back to School' stuff at Tecso a good while back and it really was cheap ****, though I'm going on the assumption you're looking to draw arcs.
 
I got a combination compass/light/whistle that hangs from my keyring for 99p from the 99p store, no idea how good it is though.

Find a tree with moss on it. Moss is on the North side. Cut a section of the tree down and carry it with you, then you always know which way north is.
