They are fairly good - definitely not a mistake to buy - however depending on how concerned you are about noise level, etc. there are other options.

I'm using Apache Blacks throughout my current build.

I don't want to exceed 25db as the pc is in my lounge. Been looking at the Vardars and the Noctua NF12 but at 33db/35db with 6 of them in push pull they might be a tad to noisy.

Apaches are pretty decent for rads, especially at £6.66!

YOUR BASKET
1 x Akasa AK-FN057 Apache Super Silent 120mm Fan - 4 Pin PWM £6.66
Total : £6.66 (includes shipping : Ex.VAT).

My only issue with them was that i could only get them to start at around 700rpm,while definatly not noisy at these speeds, they werent 'silent'.For a WC setup they are pretty hard to beat for value atm honestly.

Noctua F12's are louder than apaches at full speed. At lower rpms tho they do offer better performance/less noise.Aswell as going as low as 350rpm.

F12's are allround better than apaches,if your prepared to pay the extra ££££

I bought a whole load of the Apache blacks and I found that they were very varied in noise levels - IIRC about 60% were essentially silent below 1k RPM while the rest were noticeably louder at anything above ~700rpm - helps to use silicon bungs or similar as well rather than screwing them in.

Vardars Noctua are fine if you want a fan running at 2000rpm thats the only time they gain over the Apache.

I've tried most brands Have Noctua in the cupboard gave Varders away, they had strange droning sounds. Using Apaches, a good all round Fan.
