looking for a new pc budget 4-5K

do i go with intel 2011 (x99) or intel 1151 (z170)
mainly looking to play games, happy to update cpu later if a better one comes.

for the money do i go 980ti or titans - in sli
really in 2 minds tbh

The 980ti gives titans a run a run for there money, Haswell-E offer 6 core (12 threads) vs 4 cores (upto 8 threads.

Titans vs 980Ti hugely depends on what resolution you are gaming on and how many cards you are planning to get. I'd argue 980Ti SLI = Titan X SLI for anything up to UHD, three/four-way SLI and >UHD resolution I'd go with Titans.

What Stulid picked is essentially perfect, although I'd arguably get 4x8gb RAM since the SOC Champion only has 4 RAM slots, and I'd want to get a lot of RAM so I would never have to worry about it.

The SOC Champion is the best X99 board if you want to overclock?

Corsair PSUs (well some of them) do not have as good internals when compared to EVGA G2/P2 or Superflower Leadex.

Theres a black+red version of that case, ditto the cable set for the PSU, but you also need a cable set for that Corsair PSU and not EVGA.

P.S the resolution of your screens doesnt need TitanX, 980ti in SLI will monster that.

When running a high power setup I'd sway away from Corsair as Stulid has said. Super Flower Leadex or EVGA P2 is the way to go. SuperFlower doesn't have custom cables yet, but OcUK will be stocking them in 1-2 months time.

You also need quad channel memory for X99, and if you are getting the SOC Champion, it only has 4 RAM slots (over 8 for every other X99 board) so you'd want to get a 4x8gb kit to not have to worry about it ever again.

i honestly like asus tbh, so stick with the rampage mb - ill change the power supply.

anything else ?

Anything over 2k is massive overkill! Save money and get good components as they soon go out of date!
