Why do English people struggle too pronounce words proper

Even BBC newsreaders get things wrong all of the time. They seem to pronounce 'ambulance' as 'ambilince' and it reeeeally gets on my wick.

The worst thing that the BBC are doing at the moment is adding "so called" to everything that has a name.

So-called Isis.
So-called Black Friday.

You listen out, you'll hear it. Utterly frustrating.
