Good morning,

Im going to France for a week on Monday and trying to find the cheapest way to have data whilst im over there on my mobile...

I have an EE contract and their roaming charges seem very high, not prepared to pay £4/day;

I probably will not be using a massive amount of data, and my mobile is already unlocked.

Options i have to me so far;

Order a three payg sim card, top up £10 and use the credit to buy a £10 bundle which i believe three allows you to roam with;

Buy a french sim card when i arrive and use that one instead. However on looking around orange fr etc seems this is no more effective then using the three sim option?

Anyone travelled to france recently and come across a better deal?

I travel to poland a few times a year and always go with the local sim card option however it is far cheaper over there!!

Not worried about keeping my mobile number when travelling as tend to use messenger/whatsup etc

I'm currently in the south of France and roaming speeds are not an issue at all. Bearing in mind I'm getting about 0.2mb/s download on ADSL it's that remote here.

With Three, be aware that the speeds will only really be enough for web browsing.

The speeds for YouTube, Spotify, etc. are throtttled so much that those services are basically useless.

Not true. I was out in the states for 3 months and was able to use everything i wanted with no issue of speed.
