Ideal Graphics Upgrade from 6950 1GB

Yeah it's between the Sapphire R9 380 Nitro or the Asus 290 which I've seen for around £210. Only concern with the Asus is that it's a beast of a card and although I've measured my case it will be a bit tight.
I've also seen a few reports around the latest AMD drivers are more optimised for the 3XX than the 2XX series of cards. Eugh why can't nvidia bring out a 960 Ti or AMD a 380X!

Do not touch an Asus or MSI Hawaii card without fully researching those particular cards, There not good cards and a lot of owner have bought them just to fall foul of how the recycled coolers are unable to handle the heat Hawaii produces and they are hot chips.

If you are looking at squeezing one of these intl a small build heat is going to be a major problem.

You have been warned

Signed: A disgruntled ex-Hawaii owner. Who hated living with a 94 degree throttling burner.

EDIT: Glad to see after reading more posts you went with a 380. For me it would have been a Sapphire 380 Nitro or saving a little extra for the best bang for buck card (IMO) the Sapphire 390Nitro.

Don't draw lines. I had a 290x gaming, barely tuched 75-77C and topped out at 1200mhz. The 390/390x is a fine card again with is cooler more like the 290x lightning.
