The EU Migrant Crisis

But the lucky dip of life is simply that. Luck.

I think this does our ancestors a major disservice. They have worked hard, in our case, to build a civilised and well established society, with freedom and the rest at its core.

Their ancestors chose to believe in fairy tales and take the routes that they did. Sure they couldn't decide where they were born but in terms of responsibility, it does not lie on us, it lies on their ancestors and the choices that they made going back 100s and 100s of years.

more than that, people taking the **** out of someone who went to help

yea like these guys

Someone should tell them beggars can't be choosers...

oh wait it's not halal cos there's a red cross on the box

or maybe it just wasnt spicy enough like the french charity that went to calais, some of you might remember the video I posted in the last thread of them raiding the van, then some of them started tipping the food onto the floor and one guy even put some back into the van
well here was the reason why

You do realise that Syria has been at the centre of societal development for literally thousands of years right? It's been a very stable and prosperous nation until relatively recently.

I do realize this, which is exactly why i have little sympathy for them. As much as i despise government, i don't think a civil war is a better solution than a dictator. Especially not one that results in the destruction of the entire country and millions of refugees.

I still think the civil war was realy about assad banning the veil in 2010 which kicked off the arab spring and subsequent civil war.

What do you think the british government would do if a similar violent anti-government faction formed in the UK? They would destroy them just the same as assad has done, probably a lot more quickly and decisively as well.

This thread makes me sad. Sad that people don't have the want to help people in need.

I think people are fed up with the "elite" telling people what they must think while forcing unwelcome change on them (David Milliband take note). Yesterday Yvette Cooper was full of herself saying if each local council took 2 or 3 families in then we'd be able to take 10,000 migrants. I bet none of these migrants would end up living on the street where she lives though. What about all the people on the waiting list for housing who've just been pushed back a few notches because of these immigrants?

I know Cameron will ultimately end up giving in an allowing a few hundred thousand migrants into the country as he's got to feather his nest for after he leave politics and a cushy charity job could be his out of this. Before all that though the EU needs to impose some order and make sure member states follow the law correctly and force migrants to behave in accordance with international law.

I want to help people to make their own country better. Running away from the problem is not a solution either way you look at it.

Syria today, libya today, tomorrow Lebanon, turkey, greece, spain, nigeria, where does it end?

What the liberals don't understand. Very short sighted opening the gates to everyone and anyone... and a slippery slope.

With parts of the Middle East and Africa the way they are conflict isn't going to end anytime soon... so where do you draw the line?

Got to teach them or let them figure out how to get on with one another and prosper. The Western world figured that one out.

+1

I guess that is our society of today. The what about me culture. If we help this people, my own standards might drop 1% and that is simply unacceptable.

People have short memories. It wasn't long ago that Britain needed help in WW2 and help they certainly got. Millions of foreigner volunteers came from all over the globe to help Britain and sacrificed everything.

Sadly society is different now.

Assisting another country or group of countries in a world war is a bit different than allowing millions of homeless people in to the country.

Yep.

This is why nobody wants these people. No we won't appreciate help we'll yell at you.

Something similar to this happened in france.... they threw the food on the ground and started getting angry.

Lmao... and people want trash like that here? Well put them up in your own house :D
