Traded my ps4 for a x1

I realised that I don't actually play with friends online any more, so even if I have a healthy friends list on the XB1, I went for a PS4 :p

Technically it's frames as well but then as said, if people wanted high res and decent 60fps on more than a handful of titles they wouldn't be console gaming.

It's funny how resolution is always to blame, I guess AA, texture filtering, reflections, shadows, ambient occlusion etc don't matter between platforms

I just find it funny how it always comes back to graphics and power. One console is always going to be technically better than the other. Sometimes the gap is big, sometimes it's small. It's generally irrelevant though, the games play pretty much identically on either console, so get the console that appeals the most based on whatever factors matter to you. If you're into graphics, get a PS4 (or PC). If you're into social gaming, get the console your friends have. It's really no more complicated than that.

I'm surprised it took 17 replies for someone to mention the ridiculous resolution argument.

I think these arguments no longer work on a PC forum. :p

I enjoy my Xbox One with whatever resolution it does, but I also enjoy 3440x1440 on the PC.

I jumped the other way. Again, not because I was unhappy with the xbone but because all my friends had PS4s.

I don't get the hate for either. They're both great consoles.

i dont get the hate either. if your having fun... who cares.

for me.. being able to have fun with my mates> graphics

Whilst I love my PS4 I'm definitely still in the market to get an XB1 at some point. If Halo 5 smashes it I might even get one at the end of October.

I was always a 360 gamer with my friends and we all moved to PS4 due to the initial issues with the Xbone.

But I just absolutely hate the interface on this console, its abysmal at best - they seriously need to overhaul the UI. Love the controller though. I've seen screenshots of the Xbone's UI and it just looks soooooooo much better, like the 360 was in comparison to the PS3 at the time.

Just seen the new Xbox One Elite. Looks nice. Very tempted by that so I might wait until it is available in the UK. End of November/early December do we think?

The XB1 UI is tosh, it's slow and a cluttered mess. At least the PS4 is responsive and somewhat organised.

I just want a stellar exclusive to come to the XB1 that suits my taste, there's literally nothing at this time, Ryse was up my street but that ended up on PC so the graphics whore that I am played it on that instead. :(

I really don't understand limiting yourself to just 1 console for 8-10 years.

It's not like we are children and dependent on our parents buying them for us. We are working adults, we would probably change cars 2 or 3 times or more in the life cycle of a console, go on many holidays, so £250 spending during the course of that period isn't exactly extravagant.
Put aside £20 a month and you can have PS4 one Christmas and XB1 the next! Then buy the games that you want to your heart's content. There no sides to take.

Uncharted collection and Tomb Raider this Christmas! Bliss :)

Had both SNES and Megadrive too lol, I preferred the SNES mainly due to Mario world, secret of mana, mario kart, sim city to name a few.

Agreed matey, I always value games against the price of a round or a pint, (especially when the Steam sales are on), if a game is a fiver I think in London I won't get change from £5 for a pint of Peroni and will get much more pleasure out of the game even if I only put a couple of hours into it :)

I have a PS4 and just bought a Wii U (got a deal at Tesco with Clubcard vouchers), will probably end up with an Xbox One too at some point.

I'm having much more fun with Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario 3D Land than anything on my PS4 at the moment. People might complain the Wii U is dead but I don't really care, there is a huge list of Wii and Wii U games I haven't played which will keep me entertained for a long time to come and can get many quite cheap now (surprising for Nintendo).

It's all about the games, I like the technical side and the fact the PS4 can to 60 FPS in some games is nice and if I owned both then I'd probably go the PS4 version where possible but there are a number of exclusive games that justify having either console (or like you say, both!).

At least then there was some real distinction in Mario Vs Sonic and the SNES had an arcade perfect Street Fighter game for £££+.

Yeah but the 6 button pad on the Mega Drive made SF2 much better to play than the SNES version, unless you had an arcade stick...

Arghh, we're doing it again!
