Please explain to me how our foreign policy has had no involvement in people fleeing Afghanistan, Libya and Syria.

Isreal and US are one in the same, israel has been involved with syria extensively. Its direct involvement in libya is limited however the israeli lobby was behind the libya invasion few years ago. One the of main reasons US and NATO got involved in Iraq and Afghanistan was Israeli security. The same reason israel is trying to push for conflict with Iran.

That is a massive over simplification. Like i said the US and israel should be taking in the majority of the migrants from these countries because they were primarily responsible for destabilising the regions.

The activities are a part of what is called the The Yinon Plan

Reality check.

They were safe in Turkey. They illegally crossed into Europe because the standard of living is higher, risking themselves and their families needlessly, they became economic migrants.

The Telegraph article suggests there were "complications" in Canada processing asylum applications from Turkey (they were applying for asylum in Canada where they have family.) That prompted their opting for the boat journey

Various pics of the kids and the father in the article too. It's so sad - the children are a similar age to my own

The UK has taken in refugees for centuries as well as asylum seekers. However, we are the most overcrowded country in the EU and simply bursting at the seams.

One easily forgets the UK has contributed more overseas aid to this region then the rest of Europe put together.

We are now seeing press hyperbole because of a body on the beach. Now tragic though that is, this has been happening at sea for months. Europe cannot absorb the whole of the Middle East and North Africa without social cohesion breaking down - it simply isn't an option.

Therefore (and I never thought I would hear myself say this) I am with Cameron on this one. I just hope he keeps his nerve and doesn't give in. The answer does not lie with absorbing all these people, the answer lies in regime change linked with aid.

So he was waiting to hear back from the Canadians? In the mean time he pays £3k to a smuggler get him a tiny bit closer?

Would these people of had passports? If so, surely he could have just bought tickets to Canada for a 'holiday' seeing relatives?
