Traded my ps4 for a x1

Yup

Atari

NES/Master System

Snes/Megadrive

PS/Saturn/N64/PC

PS2/Dreamcast/Gamecube/Xbox/PC

PS3/Xbox/PC.....no Wii

PS4/X1/PC.....again no Wii U

I pretty much need to have them, missed off hand helds but most of them as well.

I really don't understand limiting yourself to just 1 console for 8-10 years.

It's not like we are children and dependent on our parents buying them for us. We are working adults, we would probably change cars 2 or 3 times or more in the life cycle of a console, go on many holidays, so £250 spending during the course of that period isn't exactly extravagant.
Put aside £20 a month and you can have PS4 one Christmas and XB1 the next! Then buy the games that you want to your heart's content. There no sides to take.

Uncharted collection and Tomb Raider this Christmas! Bliss :)

Money - and the ridiculous notion of three cars in eight years being the norm - aside, for me I don't really need an Xbox One at this point. It's just another thing I'd have to find space for, another console I'd have to buy games for, and more games I'd have to find time to play. I have a hard enough time as it is keeping up with what's on Steam and the PS4 (let alone the various PS3 games I'd like to get to at some point) as well as TV shows etc. Another console would be a nightmare.

If you can't afford it and don't have time to play it then pick your poison and shut up and it, and stop acting like a child, it's a box of plastic at the end of the day.

I know, it's ridiculous to have 3 cars in 8 years, some people the norm is one every 6 months. :p 3 in 8 years actually is very easy, these car lease are normally 3 years, you'll be on the 3rd one by the 6th year (first being day zero). And car lease is very common.

Thread going a bit off topic. Was just asking if you had switched and why.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt here and assume that comment isn't aimed at me but rather the usual fanboys who have to defend their chosen allegiance at every moment.

Like that was ever going to go well. :p

Yes, to the general bickering of what console is best.

As for not enough time...You are talking to just the person, but that's not really to do with what console to buy, there will always be more games than one can play, it's a question of how many games you buy, not really how many consoles. Besides there are not really that many exclusives and if we were strictly going off exclusive as the reason, we'd all have a Wii U.

Ive been thinking about getting an xbox one as well so then I have both, but I done it last gen and ended up selling the 360.

It is nice to have both really but I don't have the room under my tv.

Which is why I want to ask you xbox one owners how you rate the media side of the console such as watching blurays? does it have DTS/Dolby hd codecs?

As if I got one I would perhaps sell my Panasonic bdt500 bd player.

I would then have the best of both but I would have to sell my bdt500 to make room.

I don't understand it either. And I don't understand console fanboys. I've got both consoles and I enjoy both consoles.
My biggest problem with the Xbox One is the UI. Hopefully the next dashboard will fix that.
My biggest problem with the PS4 is the PSN can be a bit rubbish.
Apart from that I'm quite happy to own both.

It's a little different now as I wouldn't like to fork out for both PS Plus and Gold.

PS Plus is a bit more expensive at around £30-£32 a year but Gold is only £21 at the moment from what I can see.

Not a huge investment, and if you get a few decent games to play from either service a year then it would have been worth it.

But there's not much point in buying a £250 console to only play a couple of games on, it makes playing those few games quite expensive. One current-gen console is fulfilling my needs for the moment.

I bought a 360 last time round as a second console for the sake of the exclusives, only for most of them to end up on the PS3/PC eventually anyway.

You can certainly see it that way, I prefer to see it spread between both consoles, ever since getting both I don't even think about what platform games comes out on, I just see the reviews and decide whether I want it or not, it doesn't cross my mind at all to worry that "God dammit, why can't that be on the PS4/XB1?"

I'm going to have to choose one console this gen and stick with it
I spent far too much time deciding which console to get multi platforms on with the 360/PS3, renting both versions to test, or even buying both versions!

It was a bit silly tbh but no doubt it'll happen again if I have both

actually, are the black levels better on the XB1 compared to PS4?
this is just my opinion but it was easier to see things in darker scenes on my 360, even after messing with all the settings on both consoles

I prefer everything about the xbox, ps4 interface annoys me so much and not keen on controller, though it's better than the ps3 version. I do have a PS4 for exclusives though, and 2 xbones (living room, bedroom). Can't limit yourselves...
