The EU Migrant Crisis

they should carve out another israel and leave them to it

Lebanon has taken in something like 1.8million refugees (and now facing their own problems) with another 7+million displaced in Syria alone... Anyone who thinks European countries can just open their doors to this without significant long term issues to deal with internally is extremely naive (not aimed at you just commentary).

Not sure where but carving out somewhere for them and giving them the framework to build something of a civilisation from is about the only real solution other than sorting out the root problem(s) IMO (though I suspect it will turn into a massive slum).

And this is where you lost my interest. Don't think at any point I advocated genocide at all.

I wasn't referring to you specifically with that comment.

No such thing as an objective view of morality, you don't get to disregard "repugnant" views because yours is "clearly correct".

Really?

No, I'd ideally nudge them back into Turkish waters. If they persist, I'd fire warning shots. If they comtinue to persist, then I'd open fire.

What is the alternative; a never ending tide of humanity from the third world? A few hundred dead is a small price to pay.

Quite cooly advocating and encouraging opening fire on unarmed civilians in open water as a means of dealing with the situation. How can you defend this statement as anything other than a completely psychopathic reaction?

just shoot the boats before they board

Totally agree that taking Syrian refugees directly from the immediate area is the right thing to do. I'm absolutely disgusted at the mainstream press attempts to portray all the residents at Calais camps as desperate refugees, however.

The emotional blackmail in those press articles regarding drowning children is also abhorrent. Only the parents decided to risk those children's lives in such a fashion and they were already in a safe country (Turkey).

Didn't ISIS say they would flood the EU with immigrants last year, well its happened.

Just a matter of time before one of them 'innocent' immigrants blows themselves up in one of our towns/citys.

Chuck them on a boat back to were there from, we don't need/or want them, look after ourselves first and close the borders.

So where do these 100'000 people go when they get here?

Well, 100k is 0.14% of the UK population, so spread proportionaltely over the 13 cities that have more than 300k people, that would be at max 2.5% increase to each cities popultion. If you expand it to towns that have more than 200k people, that percentage can be decresed to 1.5%. a lot of cities are growing at more than that naturally, and thiy're coping ok.

It's easily manageble with proper planning and funding.

The crisis isn't with capacity - the crisis is political.

"I just wish we could all admit what's happening here, we all know it. The Islamic mandate is clear, they don't like outsiders, and they refuse to integrate and form their own sub societies. Letting in scores of possibly extreme viewed muslims into your country is beyond foolish. Every European country has shown they can't be integrated."

From Reddit. Basically TLDR again of points I've made.

Think it's been bad so far? it's about to get a whole lot worse...

So that's 7,500 people in each of your 13 cities. Now what do you tell the people on the housing waiting list who have just found themselves with an even longer wait to be housed?

If we have to take some Syrian migrants, then we should do what we did for Kosovan migrants - house them in temporary camps like disused barracks. We need to manage these people, not let them disappear into the seedy underbelly of broken Britain.

Get ready for the poor of this country to have to take another hit in the upcoming months to pay for this.

I didn't say we put them in council/private houses. Just that we distribute then as evenly as possible.

That's fine.

We need to manage these people, not let them disappear into the seedy underbelly of broken Britain.

Agree entirely. The last thing we want to do is mix them with the racist scum on our council estates.

That's before they start to reproduce. That's actually good thing to monitor. How many refuges will 'fall pregnant' while they are here?

I wish they would just start setting up "UN-led temporarily international camps" where its no longer officially/unofficially the nations issue, but a worldly one.

They should be near the southern borders obviously, kinda pointless otherwise.

It's pretty obvious what's going to happen unless we do something very drastic.

The world population will continue to grow, esp in poorer countries. Only China has made any attempt to halt unsustainable pop growth.

The global flow of more and more people to all regions of the world will put more pressure on resources, and will mean everybody in the G8 countries gets poorer.

Eventually, due to the massive burden that will exist on state welfare programmes, there just won't be enough money left for anything else.

Society will collapse eventually. We'll end up in a post-apoc world with no electricity, no fuel, etc.

Then massive population die off will occur.

Ultimately, whatever happens, I believe a massive die off will occur at some point in the /near/ future. It is the only rational conclusion based on our growth and diminishing resources.

And the fact that as we get poorer there will be less funding for scientific advancement, as the coffers will all be drained to provide wellfare for an unemployed population.

So you have two likely outcomes:
1- civilisation eventually crashes and we have massive die back
2- the western nations decide to intentionally let people die to save themselves.

What happens today is just another step along the road to eventual collapse. Our technology cannot save us from ruin if we continue allowing ****hole countries to exist, and people keep breeding regardless of their environment's ability to sustain them.

I guess that sounds harsh, but a lot of people just want to believe the world is rosy and we'll always advance and solve all our problems. It isn't so.

While that is all a bit extreme I do agree that we are at an odd point where human life has never had such high regard (in the West anyway) and yet never been so abundant.

The real solution comes from sorting out the situation in Syria. I wonder if there was a Western led army response how many of the people fleeing would sign up to fight for their homeland.
