Why is Russia, Syria's great ally not offering to take any and what about all those stinking rich Arab states not wanting to help their brothers? The silence from this lot is deafening.
Maybe something to do with the streets of Germany being paved with Euros is the answer.
I've heard that Labour wants Cameron to be taking at least 10,000 migrants a month..
Can't help but feel that this is just a vote winning campaign...
Right now say the right thing. Then watch as the country slowly implodes (with it all being Cameron's 'fault').
I'm not too clued up on the intricacies of refuges getting citizenship and being able to vote (can this happen?), if so, more likely to align with labour..

Oh and just to put 10,000 people into context, that is about 0.01% of the current population.
It's an extra 120,000 a year on top of the 300,000 who come here every year as part of normal net migration. 420,000 is roughly the population of Cardiff. Where are we going to build this extra city? Oh wait we're not. Britain is full.
Best just let them die then hey?

We are all prejudiced against one thing or another in some form, it's part of the human condition. I don't see this as a bad thing, rather the contrary.no, yet again I have to explain the fact that you're prejudiced not racist but I think thats beyond you
Thing is, imagine if Britain suffered some sort of calamity and we all ended up as refugees - where do you suppose we'd end up? I doubt our EU partners would help much right now it looks like they couldn't organise a ****-up in a brewery never mind organise millions of displaced people. Certainly not the Muslim world for obvious reasons. Maybe the old colonies - USA, Canada, Australia, NZ - would help if they have the capability but in the main I would expect that we'd starve in our millions.
It was on the news last night that we have taken 5,000 Syrian refugees since 2011... 1000 a year, whopee do, we really aren't pulling our weight in this regard.
Well, thankfully this is just your opinion pulled out of your ass with no basis in fact
Since the Syrians aren't starving in their millions, I very much doubt we would either.
How many refugees in total have there been since 2011? You can't just quote a figure without context.
There were 19.5 million refugees worldwide at the end of 2014, 14.4 million under the mandate of UNHCR, around 2.9 million more than in 2013.
The other 5.1 million Palestinian refugees are registered with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).
In 2014, the country hosting the largest number of refugees was Turkey, with 1.59 million refugees. By the end of 2014, Syria had become the world’s top source country of refugees, overtaking Afghanistan, which had held this position for more than three decades. Today, on average, almost one out of every four refugees is Syrian, with 95 per cent located in surrounding countries.
At least 1.66 million people submitted applications for asylum in 2014, the highest level ever recorded.
With an estimated 274,700 asylum claims, the Russian Federation became the largest recipient of new individual applications in 2014, followed by Germany (173,100), and the USA (121,200)
With an estimated 173,100 asylum applications, Germany was the largest recipient of new asylum claims in 2014. The United States of America was second with 121,200 asylum applications, followed by Turkey (87,800), Sweden (75,100), and Italy (63,700). By comparison, the UK received 31,300 new applications for asylum by the end of 2014.
How many refugees are there in the UK?
At the end of 2014, the population of refugees, pending asylum cases and stateless persons made up just 0.24% of the population. That’s 117,161 refugees, 36,383 pending asylum cases and 16 stateless persons.
The top three countries of origin [in the UK] are: Eritrea (3,568), Pakistan (2,302), and Syria (2,204),
